The RediCup device is easy to use!
Please follow the simple instructions below.
Collect Specimen
Secure lid. NOTE: Screw
cap tightly to ensure adequate seal.
Quickly invert cup and place on a
flat surface for approximately 30 seconds.
Stand upright on a
flat surface. If no sample wicking
is seen at 1 minute read time,
repeat steps 3 and 4.
Read results
at 5 minutes. NOTE:
ALL POSITIVE RESULTS ARE
PRESUMPTIVE AND SHOULD BE
CONFIRMED BY AN ALTERNATIVE
METHOD (e.g. GC/MS)
If test is
positive,
apply
security
seal and
agency label
with test(s)
requested.
Send cup and
contents to
laboratory
for
confirmation.
Sending
Presumptive
Positive
Specimens to
SOS for
GC/MS
Confirmation
Perform
the
on-site
test
according
to the
instructions
provided
above.
Complete
the
Preliminary
Results
Form,
indicating
the
positive
and
negative
test
results.
Make
sure the
donor
signs
the
form.
Secure
the
positive
specimen
in the
RediCup.
To
prevent
leakage,
make
sure the
lid is
threaded
properly
and
tightly
fastened.
Place
the
security
seal
over the
top of
the
RediCup.
Fill out
the
Specimen
ID/Chain
of
Custody
Label
and
indicate
the
positive
drug(s)
on the
line
marked
"GC/MS
Confirm:___________".
Place
the
label on
the
RediCup.
Instruct
the
donor to
initial
the
security
seal.
Seal the
RediCup
in a
plastic
baggie
with the
absorbent
material.
Make a
copy of
the
Preliminary
Results
Form and
place it
in the
DHL/Airborne
bag
(five or
more
specimens)
or the
mailer
box
(fewer
than
five
specimens)
with the
specimen.
Send to
SOS for
GC/MS
confirmation.
*Please do not send
negative specimens
to SOS for
confirmation.
Negative specimens
will not be
confirmed.
